New Delhi, May 24th, 2010: His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, head of the Drukpa Lineage (proponent of Mahayana Buddhist philosophy) was conferred with Bharat Jyoti award presented by India International Friendship Society, here in New Delhi today. The award was received by His Eminence Kyabje Kunga Rinpoche on behalf of His Holiness. This award re?establishes the contribution of His Holiness towards the betterment of society and spreading the message of live to love among people in the world, especially in the areas of promoting gender equality, protecting environment and preserving cultural and social heritages in the Himalayas.
