His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa and Drubpön Nawang Tenzin
with the Drukpa Paris Board members (Paris, January 2004)
Drukpa Paris is an Buddhist association (1905 Law) under the spiritual authority of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa. It belongs to the Tibetan Federation of Buddhism and the "Union Bouddhiste de France."
It aims at making known the richness of the philosophy of the Vajrayana Buddhism, more particularly the public practise of buddhist cult according to the transmission of the Drukpa lineage. This teaching given by Buddha leads the ones who practise it with purity, diligence, perseverance and humility, to the realisation of the Awakening.
People who take this path sincerely must vow to be respectuous towards all beings, and show tolerance, amiability, patience and open-mindedness. This spiritual path in no way promotes an attitude of withdrawal, mortification or any kind of extremist or fanatical behaviour.
The Association is placed under the spiritual authority of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, one of the main masters and teachers of the Vajrayana Buddhism.
It keeps away from all kinds of political activities.
It develops humanitarian actions through the 1901 charity association "Drukpa Humanitairian Association."
Drukpa Paris is linked to the Pel Drukpay Tcheutsok Congregation (in Plouray, Morbihan), which is the European seat of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa. The Venerable Drubpön Ngawang Tenzin is the official representative of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa in Europe. He lives in Plouray.
